It took 15 mins., but I Achieved!

I am very proud of myself.  Today I jogged (4 - 4.5mph) ONE MILE, NON-STOP!  I am so overjoyed!  I was not winded and was able to carry on a conversation (even though it broke my concentration).  So, that means IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN!!

I’m BORED

OK…it’s 9:04pm and I AM BORED….What should I do?  I do not want to turn to sweets just to soothe me.  What should I do?  I’m staying awake so I stand a good chance of sleeping through the night.  I’m bored and tired.  Any suggestions?  How much damage would a bag of microwave popcorn do?  Thanks for your help.

Good Morning America

Up at 6:50am.  Need to start the day.  Day off from work and I have weekend errands to run.  My stomach still feels upset this morning; hope it passes.  Did my daily weigh-in and came up with a two pound loss.  For breakfast yesterday I ate one potato roll with 1 tblspn. peanut butter, along with 10 cups of coffee.  Lunch was 1-1/2 slices of frozen pizza and a slice of pound cake.  Dinner was 12 baby carrots with 2 tblspn. of Creamy Caesar dressing.  Also had 1/2 cup of white wine.  Walking in place with hand weights and doing floor exercises for about 30 minutes was my exercise for the day.  I know that if I skipped the pound cake, creamy dressing and wine, I probably would have been 1/2 pound lighter.  But I can’t give up everything.  The wine and dressing are litle splurges anyway.  So I feel good.  2009 has so much to offer.  I look forward to each day.  Each day should be better than the day before.  For breakfast this morning, it is a toss-up between Cheerios (regular) with 2% milk, or oatmeal.  Which do you think I should eat?  So, how you doin’?

Happy New Year!

The day is almost done, but Happy New Year to everyone!  I am keeping steam with watching what I eat.  Since Dec. 29th I have lost one pound.  Not bad.  Today, however, I am feeling sick to my stomach.  Too much coffee with cream (I believe). Spent most of the afternoon watching the TLC channel; shows on obesity (concentration on a clinic in NY).  Keeps you focused on the prize.  Currently the show is about the Half-Ton Teen.  I should have taped the shows, because I do not want to get that large.  I don’t know how people do not see the damage they are doing to themselves when they become that big.  I do believe in food addiction; how else can you explain someone eating beyond the fullness.

I exercised today and yesterday.  Walked in place for twenty minutes using hand weights.  Also did leg exercises for another 15 minutes.  Not as strenuous as the elliptical and treadmill, but at least it’s something.  Any hoo…..Keep on Keepin’ On!

New Determination

I have been away from this site for quite some time.  So, today I have decided to re-commit myself to losing weight.

A while ago, I lost sight of my goal (ONEderland) and have unfortunately gained some pounds — 11 pounds to be exact.  I can not cross the threshold of 220.  That defeats my purpose.  So with new dedication, I have renewed my vow to lose weight.  As I have said in the past, it will take some time to lose this weight, but time is all I have.  Wish me luck and see you in ONEderland!

Good Morning America!

Once again, I am progressing nicely with my weight loss journey.  Yesterday did not bring any results for today.  Melancholy about that, but it was short-lived.  March on!  I did my 35 minutes on the elliptical and walked 1/2 mile and jogged 1/2 mile.  I hope to improve on the jogging.  I ran at 3.5 on a 1-1/2 incline.  This has my my thighs tight.   Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Another uneventful day

Well, yesterday I ate healthy meals, even though last night I ate an ice cream sandwich (160 cal.).  I also had less than a handful of walnuts and about 40 pistachios.  I don’t know if that is the reason the scale did not move, but that probably is the reason, right?  Yesterday’s exercise said I burned 425 cal.  So not for anything, that should have taken care of what I ate at breakfast.  I guess it is time to try something different.  I read Christie’s post this morning (Thanks Christie for the info), so I will rest (from exercising) for a couple of days and increase my calories by the 10% (probably with fruit) and see what happens.  I refuse to go the way of South Beach, because two weeks without fruit is unthinkable.  I’ll post if the new trick has made an impression, or not.

Good Morning Buddies

Happy Monday to Everyone!

I had a fantastic weekend.  The weather was beautiful which gave me and the Kid a chance to play in the park yesterday.   I have a (potential) future Olympic track star; so he’s off jumping, climbing and running.  He did however, want me to push him on the swing for 1/2 hour, so I guess that is considered some type of upper body exercise.   He is so carefree, and watching him at play does the heart good.  Yesterday I went to a travel party (presentation on home-based business), so I did splurge a little.  This did not sway the scale in either direction, so I am still where I’m at.  This morning for breakfast I had Fiber One, All Bran and granola mix.  Lunch will be salad with mushrooms, and pieces of roasted chicken.  I will more than likely have the roasted chicken and pasta for dinner.  I am still gunning to lose the eight pounds by month end.  I will go to the gym during lunch and workout for at least 45 minutes.  Wish me Luck!

Keepin’ it Moving

Well I made it to the gym five days straight.  My gym mojo is still at high.  Today I used the treadmil for 25 minutes and the elliptical machine for 25 minutes.  Once again, I could not stop sweating.   We are forecast to have a beautiful weekend, so I plan to spend a couple of hours in the park with my son.  Maybe I’ll run after him (maybe I’ll take the day off from exercising).  Lunch was light — turkey breast (that is some dry meat), and celery sticks with hummus.  I’m doing laundry this evening, so I hope lunch will keep me going until dinner.  I might need to grab some nuts.  All in all, my day has been great and I am still on a happy high!

Rejoicing

I can’t help but feel happy today.  Reading our buddyslimmers’ blogs, I smile.  I know some of us have gained some of the weight we’ve lost, but by the end of the blog, most understand why and know what to do to get back on the fast track.  You can do it.  There is no reason you can not do it.  Do you remember how your body felt when you lost 10 pounds!  ISN’T THAT MOTIVATION!  Get your booty in motion!  Stay committed to yourself!  You have a long full life to enjoy!   You will SMILE when you SEE and FEEL your progress.  NO MORE EXCUSES! NO MORE!
