Weight is back to normal; it’s time to move on!

I have lost the three pounds I gained during the weekend — Oh Happy Day!  I do not want to repeat that.    Today I return to the gym to use my favorite machine — the Elliptical.  I am continuing to do strength training at home with light weights, but fell asleep early last night.  Will definitely get it in tonight.  Breakfast today was plain bagel with 1 tblspn. peanut butter, am snack is light yogurt, lunch will be pb&j on whole wheat bread, pm snack is the beloved apple.  Dinner will be baked chicken and mixed vegetables.  Sounds good.  I have probably overloaded on the carbs, but the chef at work is on vacation for five weeks and I do not want anyone else preparing my breakfast.  Have a great day everyone, and remember Keep Your Head Up (this is an exciting ride)!

I Feel off the Bandwagon…

I don’t know what happened this weekend, but I feel off the wagon.  Friday was such a horrible eating day for me.  The sad part is - I knew what I was doing and refused to stop myself; that is until Sunday, but the damage is done.  I have gained three pounds since Friday morning.  Wow!  Can a person really put on three pounds that quickly?!? OMG!  “Forgive me Father for I have sinned.  I have not worked out (cardio) since last Wednesday.”  I’ve done strength exercises (but not enough).  We were “snowed” in on Friday, day care closed and all I did was eat and nap.  You know, nibble here, nibble there.   I even felt my face expand.  I am also hoping, because it is that TOM (and I have been drinking green tea and ginger tea like there is no tomorrow), that at least a pound is water retention.  Anyway, eating right today:  egg white with shredded cheese & turkey bacon, yogurt, one cup white rice with two cups roasted vegetables.  Dinner is questionable, and I will leave the peanut butter ice cream (yum!) alone.

A Long Time Coming

Slow and Steady Wins the Race….Since Shan mentioned this yesterday, with every morsel I eat, I repeat those words.  Within a day’s time, they have come to mean so much to me while I am trying to lose weight.  This morning I received my Green Star!  Yes…I am down 25 pounds.  How sweet it is to finally be able to say “I have lost 25 lbs”.  As Angela suggested, I did add more calories to my dinner, so I would like to believe that is why I lost the extra pound.  Yesterday I ate a total of 1,426 calories.  I spent 30 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer (which gave me a total calorie burn of 300 calories).  I will stay with my “modified” version of South Beach until next Friday, and hope I can drop at least two - three pounds by then.   If not, “slow and steady…”.

Happy Valentine’s Day and have a great morning….

My Public Food Journal…Can I be doing something wrong?

Breakfast:  egg white omelet with mushrooms and cheese, two slices turkey bacon, green tea

Mid-morning snack:  two celery stalks with Laughing Cow Light Cheese (1 wedge), Hot Chocolate and Water (16.9 oz.)

Exercise:  Treadmill = 25 minutes at 3.5mph on a 5% incline.

Lunch:  (about four cups) Green Salad with cucumbers, 8 olives (medium size), red onions, two tbspns. tuna, 4 oz. baked chicken breast (no skin of course), two tbspns. olive oil, two tbspns. mozzarella cheese, and green tea

Mid-afternoon snack:  10 macadamia nuts

Dinner:  Baked Tilapia, one cup green peas, two 16.9 ozs. bottle water

Exercise:  Pilate(?) Squats with a Sweep = 20 reps each leg.

Desert:  One cup ricotta cheese with 15 almonds chopped, rum extract and vanilla extract

The above is my food and exercise journal for yesterday.  I do not understand why I only showed a .5 pound loss this morning.  The above gives a good idea on how I eat seven days a week, except for the occassional ice cream binge on a weekend day.  If you could change an item on my list, what would it be?  If this is a good menu, should I wait to see what my weight will be on Friday?  Thanks for your help.
